Care you can trust
Periodontal disease is the lesser known of the two diseases we most often encounter in dentistry. Everyone knows about how cavities can damage the teeth, but fewer people know about the importance of maintaining the tissues around the teeth. If gum tissues are not maintained for many years, the teeth can become loose and eventually fall out if not treated in a timely manner. The best thing you can do to combat this challenge is to regularly brush your teeth and to use floss daily. Even with good brushing and flossing, some people still develop periodontal disease to the point where we need to treat it. Active periodontal therapy is more involved than a regular cleaning, using ultrasonic instruments to clean the areas beneath the gumline and flush out any bacteria or debris. Our staff is able to offer these treatments in a comfortable, painless way if you are in need of a more thorough cleaning to prevent the progression of periodontal disease.
